01 Mar 24 in Twenty-10: Scripture Memory Verse #5
Hi Girls!
It’s March 1st and you know what that means! Yep… time for a new memory verse! I have loved reading your Scripture entries and comments on the blog and am thrilled to pieces to know that you’re being encouraged in the Word through this simple practice! After all, following Jesus is the Great Adventure… a great big wild ride complete with thrills, chills, smiles and tears – and with a hefty dose of fun mixed in! But it’s definitely not for the faint of heart; no sissies here! No ma’am! This adventure takes courage… confidence. And that brings me to my Scripture memory verse #5.
I’ve been reading through the book of Hebrews and the Lord is opening my eyes to see these passages anew. In chapter 10, the writer of Hewbrews calls us to persevere in our faith with courage and confidence. Oh, girly girls, if you only knew how many cycles of defeat I’ve fallen into over the years because of a lack of confidence. I could go on and on for days on this one, but suffice to say – I had a habit of throwing away my confidence by simply believing my past more than the One who’d already redeemed it.
Confidence. I’ll be honest with you, though I’ve come a long way, it’s still something that I battle. So, while all of Hebrews 10 has ministered to me and blessed me in regard to confidence and courage, I’ve selected the following as my memory verse for March 1st:
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36
Oh, sweeties, do I dare say we all could use a little more God-given confidence? I fear we are missing some “promises” because we’re throwing away our confidence… and holding onto some things that should be tossed! I’m committing this verse to memory once and for all… if I have to thumb-tac it to my forehead!!!! (Not really.)
Authentically yours ~
