Galatians 5:16 (NIV) says, “So I say, walk by th
Galatians 5:16 (NIV) says, “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” A “walk” in the Bible is typically a metaphor for practical, daily living. So, to “walk in the Spirit” would then mean that we *yield* to his control– day by day, moment by moment, incident by incident– whatever our circumstances are.⠀
⠀
How do we yield to the control of the Holy Spirit? We yield to his control by obeying God’s Word—doing what he tells us to do, taking his counsel. As we do, he empowers us to walk in obedience—and thus we’re led by the Holy Spirit, allowing him to exert his influence over us… and not just in times of major life crisis, but also in everyday life. Indeed, we yield in the very *ordinary* circumstances of life… the scratchy times you get in with your kids, spouse, or work relationships, or when you struggle with your own impatience… whatever it may be.⠀
⠀
When we “walk in the Spirit” we go with the Spirit of God; it’s the opposite of resisting him, pushing back, or grieving him– it means to lean in and let him guide us. As we walk in the spirit and lean on him, we learn to rely on him more and more. The more we rely on him = the stronger our reliance on him becomes. The more we trust him to guide our thoughts, our words, and our actions = the easier it becomes to trust him, and God's Spirit within you gets fuller and bigger and stronger and begins to produce the kind of spiritual fruit that comes from his life living in you.⠀
⠀
This week, practice walking in the Spirit—take God at his Word, step out in obedience and watch the Holy Spirit propel you in faith.⠀

So, why is the Holy Spirit so important, and who i
So, why is the Holy Spirit so important, and who is he anyway? Well, the Holy Spirit goes by several names in scripture, primarily the *helper.* And like we talked about before, Satan goes by many names and we can tell a lot about his character by his different names. We can also tell a lot about who the Holy Spirit is and his character (which is the character of God) when you listen to his names.⠀
⠀
As a follower of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is the one who helps you and gives you that supernatural power that enables you and me to walk by faith and live the Christian life while we're on this planet. He's also called the comforter because he consoles us. He's called the counselor because he guides us and counsels us according to God's truth. He's our advocate because defends us and he supports us. He's our intercessor because he prays for us and pleads on our behalf. He's our strengthener because he animates our life with supernatural power and lives through us. He enlightens us to God’s Word, makes us wise and gives us understanding of the Scriptures.⠀
⠀
The Holy Spirit also leads you and me to obey the truth of God's Word. He is called the Spirit of Truth, so he is always going to lead us according to God's Word.⠀
⠀
+ He will always tell you the truth.⠀
+ He will always lead you to the truth of God in the Bible.⠀
⠀
The Holy Spirit—our helper, our counselor, our comfort, our strengthener, our intercessor, our advocate, and yes, our friend, all of him– is inside each person who has placed faith in Jesus Christ and made him Lord of their life. He lives inside you, dwelling in you, helping you and giving you power to do what God wants you to do, to say what God wants you to say, to live the way God wants you to live… which is the best life, the best way.⠀
⠀
Do you know him? Who has he shown you to be in your life?⠀

God calls us— not to take center stage, or ascend a platform of fame. No, God calls us to the front line. He calls us not to the limelight, but to let our light shine for him in places and in ways that go unnoticed by most…unrecognized; often unappreciated and looked over.

But God does not look over your faithfulness to him. He sees your heart. He knows you’re not a platform builder— that you seek no glory of your own…not the slightest bit. He knows you’re more than willing to *be* the stage upon where He stands… where He shines and where He gets all the glory, honor and praise. It’s there… on the front lines, fighting the good fight of faith… that’s where the applause of Heaven roars above the applause of man. For His recognition, for the victory He delivers. For His name and His fame.

♥️The front line is for making His name known!

If we are reaching for front and center, we’ll never reach the front line. And the front line is where the victory is. The front line is where He is!

I'm not here to just give you a good lesson. No, I
I'm not here to just give you a good lesson. No, I am actually here to disciple you. And that’s very different.
To disciple someone means teaching them God’s Truth and helping them live life according to it. That's what this podcast is all about, that's what my social media posts are about. It's all about working together and walking out our faith together in everyday life by working God’s Word into every part of our life—our circumstances, situations and our relationships. The Life on Life podcast is where we come together to do exactly that.

I'm also not here as one who has had a stellar, blameless past. I’m teaching you out of experience– the kind of experience where I got it wrong but learned to get it right. There was a time when I grew very impatient with God. The “clock” was ticking. I wasn't married. Waiting on God was exhausting me. In my ignorance, I thought I knew best. So, I answered Satan's tempting call…the call that says, “Did God really say that it would be wrong to…?”

Sound familiar? Yep. I answered his question in all the wrong ways. I was in relationship after relationship searching for love that would satisfy me quickly, make all my dreams and desires come true the way I wanted them to. And all the while, I was a born-again Christian. I didn’t stand firm in my faith believing that God would give me his best. Instead, I believed Satan's lies and that led me into sexual immorality.

Satan loves to see us make fools of ourselves and not even be ashamed of it. And that was me. I was an immoral woman. I was a royal idiot.

By the grace of God, I woke up one day and realized how I was grieving Jesus (and hurting myself) with my sin. I cried out, “I give up, I can't do this anymore. Come, Lord Jesus, and be who you want to be in my life. Please, Lord, I just want to fall in love with you.” And y’all – he did! He did what I asked.

So, I'm here to help you trust Jesus, to love His Word, and to give you tools to help you develop a relationship with him that keeps you coming back for more! What I've got to give to you is everything that Jesus is and has been to me. And he is absolutely everything!

I love y’all!

Jesus- nailed to the Cross, hung bleeding, dying in the pitch dark middle of the afternoon. Groaning in agony with his last bit of human strength, he raised his voice to heaven and cried out loudly, “My God, why have you abandoned me?”

I bet you’ve echoed a similar— “My God…WHY?”

Wrought deep within us, from the moment we take our first breath, we cry out- I’m alone! I’m scared! It’s dark! It’s the cry of distress and helplessness. The cry of emotional and physical pain. The cry of confusion in our overwhelmed heart. And ultimately it’s the cry of *feeling* all alone that pleads, “WHY?” Why have you forgotten me? Why is this happening? Why have you allowed…the pain to come, the child to die, the husband to leave, the emotions to battle, the disease to cripple…

WHY, MY GOD, WHY?

Jesus cried out to his Abba Father from his soul. In the same way, your why is the cry of your soul. It plumbs the depths of gut-wrenching honesty that brings about intimacy between you and your Abba Father. You see, sin is not only what contaminated you and me—separating us from God who loves us; but sin is also the source of every single agonizing why of your life. And for that, there is also the Cross of Christ.

Put the colored eggs & peeps aside for a bit and think about this: There on that Cross, Jesus bled and died for the sins of the world that caused all the pain of this world, and the painful why’s of your heart. Yet, all the while he suffered he experienced the greatest pain of all: the agony of absolute aloneness in the most painful moment of his human life.

💜Jesus was all alone, so you never have to be.

God’s promise in Christ is to never leave us alone—never turn his face away and abandon us. And while we still cry “Why,” we do not cry alone, because GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE!

Most of our why’s won’t be fully answered this side of heaven. Right now, we only have part of the story. But one day every why we’ve ever cried will be more than answered; it will be relieved the moment we behold the beautiful face of Jesus, our Savior—the one who paid the penalty for our sins and the why’s of our suffering…for the joy set before him.

Happy Blessed Easter!

One of the many beautiful things about our relatio
One of the many beautiful things about our relationship with God, through our savior Jesus Christ, is that we get to repent. We *get to* repent. As soon as you sense a conviction in your spirit about whatever it is that you’re doing or thinking (or have done or have thought), you have the opportunity to repent. Take whatever it is and confess it to God. He'll listen. Call it what it is (it's sin) and tell God where you've been wrong, how sorry you are, and then repent.⠀
⠀
Repent means to turn and walk in the opposite direction back toward God, literally to turn around and walk *away* from the sin and head in the opposite direction *toward* God. That is truly something awesome that we get to repent immediately when we’re aware of something we’re doing that is not God’s best for us.⠀
⠀
Jesus is gentle, loving and kind… but oh, y'all, he's tough on sin. He doesn't want sin to wreck your life, and that's exactly what it will do if it’s left unchecked… unrepentant.⠀
⠀
So whatever it is, whatever your struggle, as you reflect this Holy Week on all that Jesus has done for you– to take on the sin of the world, your sin, to set you free– won’t you take advantage of that wonderful gift and repent? Run to him. He’s waiting.⠀

This is the week leading up to Easter Sunday: our celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Some refer to it as Passion Week, some Holy Week. Either way, it’s a wonderful opportunity to reflect on each of the days that led up to the ultimate sacrifice, the Cross; and that awesome miracle, the Resurrection.

Join me in stories this week as we remember the main events that led up to Easter Sunday. If you missed a day, no worries! Check out the “Holy Week” highlight on my profile.
