Are you chasing your dreams or are you chasing Jes
Are you chasing your dreams or are you chasing Jesus? There's a big difference. Jesus is a true dream come true that we one day will see and behold face-to-face. But for right now, he is our pursuit on this earth. He is the one who is the giver of dreams. So don't chase your dreams. Chase the one who is the dream come true and who is the giver of dreams. Chase HIM!

Contentment is a word that means possessing enough
Contentment is a word that means possessing enough with no need or no aid of support. It's independent of external circumstances. Contented with one's life means a perfect condition of life in which no aid or support is needed. Sufficiency of the necessities of life, a mind contented with its lot. It also goes on to say in the definition, “the state of being mentally or emotionally satisfied with the way things are.” And so contentment has everything to do with our mindset. In fact, biblical contentment has everything to do with our perspective on life, how we see life, and how we think about life. The thing that you look at, the thing that you are thinking about -- that is where your heart is going to go -- in a direction of contentment or discontent.

Contentment has everything to do with perspective on life. Where you're looking, your heart will follow. What you're thinking -- your heart will follow. So, what are you thinking about? What are you looking at? Is your circumstance right now one that is causing you discontent or contentment?

Philippians 4:11-13 says, “Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”

TWENTY-TWO years ago I said, “I will…” and I’ve been saying it every day since. We didn’t know what we were headed for, but we knew Who was leading the way. It’s been a wild ride—and I wish we could go back…start all over again, and relive every beautiful-hard-glorious minute! I love you like crazy, John Tolson. ♥️

We forget to remember that we are true citizens of
We forget to remember that we are true citizens of heaven. So that's where our citizenship is. And we forget to remember to act like true citizens of heaven while we're here on earth. So what causes that? Just look around at all of the distractions that are pulling us into this gravity of earth that's holding us down. We get distracted by the world's ways, by the culture we live in - where politics and pandemics have pulled our focus from the kingdom work of Christ. We've been more fixated on those things and distracted by those things.

And don't forget to remember that Satan's greatest and most effective weapon toward us is distraction. He cannot take our salvation, but he can distract us and render us ineffective for the kingdom while we're here on earth. The world system will bait us and it will bait us with our favorite flavor, whatever it is, and it will reel us in to making the world's ways king or first place in our heart and mind.

Paul says, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of Christ” (Phil. 3:14). Pressing on. The goal then is knowing Christ. It's an ongoing growth and depth of intimacy to know Christ and to experience Christ the prize. And while Paul does not state exactly what that prize is based on the context and what we've read previously, it seems that the prize is to just continue to know, continuing to know Christ until he gains full knowledge of him. And full knowledge of Christ will be when we see him face to face.

Everything, absolutely everything is worthless com
Everything, absolutely everything is worthless compared to knowing Christ Jesus. Compared to loving Him and falling more in love with Jesus and following Jesus all the days of our life. Nothing compares to that, and everything is worthless when you look at it in light of the glorious gospel in Jesus Christ, who loves us so much.
