01 Jan 2013 Resolutions That Matter

Happy New Year!!
 
I’m not one for throwing out a lot of new year’s resolutions. But if we’re going to make resolutions at all, then let’s make some that really matter. God’s Word records only 4 and I thought they were worth passing along-

2013 Resolution #1 – Honor God’s Name!
“…Resolve to honor my name,” says the LORD Almighty-” (Malachi 2:2)

2013 Resolution #2 – Ask for God’s help… first!
“Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord , and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.” (2 Chronicles 20:3)

2013 Resolution #3 – Get to know Jesus better- because that’s all you really need to know.
“For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)

2013 Resolution #4 – Take care of your “temple” by making good, healthy choices!
Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine- (Daniel 1:8)

If we can aim for these 4, I think we’ll accomplish a whole lot more!
