Rejoice!

God knew this world would be scary for us. He knew we’d be prone to worrying as much as wandering. So he provided a practical REMEDY for times when our heart and our head wander away into a world of worry: REJOICE in the Lord. That’s his prescription for anxiety!

So, starve what’s got you worried, fretful, anxious, and troubled by intentionally, deliberately willfully, rejoicing in the Lord— in his goodness and in his faithfulness, in the Almightyness of who he is, and that he has got you and yours, and this whole world, in his loving grip and under his control!

Stop watching the news; choose to rejoice in the Lord instead.

Stop counting your rolls of toilet paper; choose to rejoice in the Lord instead.

Stop binge watching away one of the most glorious *opportunities* you have right this very moment…

Right now! Choose to rely on and “Rejoice in the Lord, always. Again I say it, REJOICE!”

What’s worrying you right now? Name it. Say it out loud. Tell the Lord. And then REJOICE in him— Just start!! Start now and see how the peace floods in. You start some rejoicing in the Lord and you see how your eyes all of a sudden see the God who’s with you and the gold all around you, the people around you— the opportunities to experience the fullness of life that he’s given you… without distractions!

Do it! Do it now. Do it all day. Rejoice in the Lord because this is the day that he has given us! So how will you spend this day that the Lord has made for you?

The apostle Paul wrote the following words while in a *prison*. Let’s not only read them but heed them— the beautiful step-by-step prescription for worry and anxiety that delivers peace and joy: REJOICE IN THE LORD!

Rejoice in the Lord always.
Again I say, rejoice!
Let everyone see your gentleness.
The Lord is near!
Do not be anxious about anything.
Instead, in every situation,
through prayer and petition
with thanksgiving,
tell your requests to God.
And the peace of God
that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds
in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7

I love y’all!
