29 Mar Breathing Room – Day 11
Psalm 145:11 (NLT)
They will speak of the glory of your kingdom;
they will give examples of your power.
How much of the life you’ve personally lived can only be explained in 2 words: GOD ALONE. What personal examples can you point to?
G O D.
- No other explanation.
- Nothing else makes sense; no one & nothing else to point to.
- Not the social status you’ve achieved.
- Not the family you came from.
- Not the amount of money you’ve made.
- Not the education you’ve earned.
- Not the philanthropic work you’ve done.
- Not your natural or physical abilities.
- Not your physical appearance.
But simply that you are who you are, you got where your are, you did what you did & you do what you do…and it can’t be explained except by the supernatural work of GOD. Only God.
I’m always amazed when I look back at my life & faith-history. My now & my then are miles apart; my beginning was definitely not on a trajectory to the life I live today. It’s not the result of my own efforts, that I know for sure. Only God. I can only point to him; not only as the Author & Finisher of my faith, but the Redeemer of my life & my many, many messes. My life simply does not make sense apart from Him. I have countless examples to point to.
Friends, that’s the life He’s called us to; a life that can only be described in the name of the One who gives abundant life: GOD. That’s the legacy of faith that we‘re charged with leaving the generations behind us (Psalm 78); teaching & telling them of the God who is who he says he is, from our own personal stories of God doing in our lives what God alone says he can do. Not what money, or education, or personal success can do. But real examples of what God can do, written all over the pages of our life. That’s a genuine legacy of faith. Are we leaving that kind of legacy?
Jesus said: “You can do what you can do. But only I can do through you what only I can do. Stay close. Stay connected. Watch me do the humanly unexplainable through your life” (John15:5, my paraphrase).
Today- surrender all of you to all of Him. Tell Him- “I’ll do whatever You want me to do. I’ll go wherever You want me to go. I’ll be whoever You want me to be.” Ask Him to do what only He can do through you & watch your life catch fire that spreads the glory of God!
I love y’all!
