Breathing Room – Day 13

Psalm 145:13a (NLT)

For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
    You rule throughout all generations.

By now most of us have realized that our personal kingdoms and worldly security measures are failing us, crumbling under and all around us. Those are just the facts of the fallout of this global pandemic.

It’s time NOW to recalibrate our lives under God’s truth and his reign over us. His security measures are trustworthy and reliable. His Kingdom will not fail to shelter and protect those who belong to him. He will make a way through the chaos and redeem the troubles of life for those he loves, who’ve been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28-29). When the ground underneath you is shaking, his promises hold you fast (Matthew 7:22-29); his hope gives you a strong and trustworthy anchor for your soul (Hebrews 6:19); his peace is perfectly suited to calm your anxious mind (Isaiah 26:3); his wisdom is endless; he gives it generously (James 1:5-7); and the provisions from his storehouse of treasures never run out (Philippians 4:19).

The king of the Kingdom is King Jesus. There’s no philosophy on this earth, no educational institution, nor financial institution, not a medical institution or a self-help method that can make the claims that Jesus makes in Matthew 6— that if you sell out to the person of Jesus Christ, everything you need will be given to you at the right time, according to his will.

Why wouldn’t you want the One and Only Wise King to be the Only One ruling your life?

If you don’t know him at all, now’s the time to make that happen, to make him King of your heart— Savior and Lord over your life, and begin calibrating yourself according to him. Because in addition to all the benefits of his Kingdom, you get the forgiveness of your sins— past, present and future, and an eternally-ever-after with him.

Just pray:
Jesus, I am in need of a Savior, and I need you. I receive your gift of grace, the forgiveness of my sins and the saving of my soul. Thank you for coming into my life in the person of the Holy Spirit. I give you complete Lordship over my life and ask you to teach me and help me live the life you created for me.
In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
