Breathing Room – Day 14

Psalm 145:13b-14 (NLT)

The Lord always keeps his promises;
    he is gracious in all he does.

The Lord helps the fallen
    and lifts those bent beneath their loads.

I learned something from my man 20 years ago when we first began dating. He taught a ‪Sunday morning Bible class at his church in Orlando, FL and each week he’d have the large group all stand, open their bibles and repeat a Statement of Belief [see the images below].

GOD IS- trustworthy, reliable, believable and dependable all the time. Psalm 145:13b reminds us, “God always does what he says he will do; and he is gracious in everything he does.” If you want to put some iron in your bones, memorize that verse and add to it the promises God makes in his word.

In Psalm 145:14 the promise is this:

1) The Lord helps the fallen;

2) he lifts those who are bent beneath their loads.

Two words stand out: helps and lifts.

Who needs God’s help today? How do you need it? Who’s under a heavy load today and needs a physical, mental or emotional lift? Where have you been looking for help? What have you been using to “lift” the burden of your load?

Sister- If God said so, then he will do so. 100% of the time.

YOU CAN BELIEVE GOD because: God is not a man that he would lie (Numbers 23:19); God never changes; he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8); God’s Word is eternal, reliable, everlasting (Isaiah 40:8); what God says is always accomplished (Isaiah 55:10-11).

So let’s get our theology worked into our reality. Search the Scriptures for truth that applies to your particular circumstances right now- and live it.

Here are a few of mine:

    • Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
    • Psalm 138:8, “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.“
    • Romans 8:37-39, I am more than a conqueror in Christ, and nothing can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.

If we’re really going to be women who walk by faith in God, then we’ve got to start walking. Walking out our faith, metabolizing God’s truth into our life and living it, believing God with every step.

OK- now I want to hear from you! Let’s build up faith in one another! Share your Scriptures in the comments.

I love y’all!
