Breathing Room – Day 18

Psalm 145:18 (NLT)

The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth.

Yesterday we talked about the right-ness and truth of God— in that God is who he says he is, and he always does what he says he will do. God’s Truth has to become our truth. What we know about God (theology) we must then metabolize it, work it into our everyday life (our reality, the truth of our present circumstances). That’s how we start experiencing God and finding that he is indeed true and right in all of his ways.

Today we read in Psalm 145:18 that God comes near, he listens attentively to those who pray— who call on his Name in truth: pouring out our hearts in sincerity, the truth of our life, to everything that God is and everything that he does. Our prayers become prayers of truth as we acknowledge who God is over our lives and pray the truth of what he says he can do. Praying in truth not only gets God’s attention, it strengthens us— it refocuses and recalibrate our mind and heart in the absolute reliability of God.

I leave you with David’s prayer in Psalm 119:137-144.

Pray in truth and be strengthened in truth.

Lord- “You are right and you do right, God; your decisions are right on target.
You rightly instruct us in how to live ever faithful to you…
Your promise has been tested through and through, and I, your servant, love it dearly… I don’t forget what you tell me.
Your righteousness is eternally right,
your revelation is the only truth.
Even though troubles came down on me hard, your commands always gave me delight.
The way you tell me to live is always right; help me understand it so I can live to the fullest.”

I love y’all!
