Breathing Room – Day 3

Psalm 145:3 (NLT)

Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.

Great is the Lord our God and no one can measure his greatness.

Not many of us get super excited to read the book of Job— a book that starts with a heap of tragedy dumped on one guy! But that’s exactly where I’m going to send you to today. In Job, chapters 38-41, the Lord answers Job… *not* with answers to all of Job’s “whys” about the tragedies that have befallen him and his household— the loss of life, livestock, livelihood and lifestyle. God answers Job’s questions by meticulously and powerfully questioning Job about how much he knows about God. And in this stunning reminder of the Almightiness of who God, Job is humbled; he gets the proper perspective. He sees himself and his life and circumstances in light of Almighty God.

When God has finished speaking, then in chapter 42 Job responds to God with, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted” Job 42:1-2.

Take some time to read Job 38-41; get the right perspective on who He is and what He has done, and then respond to Him in praise for His immeasurable greatness!!Pray with me—

Glorious, Almighty God! There is none like You. Always and forever You are God. Everything that is has it’s beginning in You— and nothing exists without You. Forgive me for forgetting that, for forgetting You, and for continually placing more weight and importance on myself and my circumstances. How grateful I am for You and that You are my God. I know that You’ve not taken your eyes off of me and this world, nor turned Your face away. I know that in Your unfailing love You hold me close and hold me together, as nothing and no one can.

O Lord God, I know that you can do all things and that no plan of yours can be interrupted! Keep my eyes and my heart focused on You this very day… for You are worthy of my heart’s greatest devotion, my mind’s all-consuming attention, and my life’s actions. May all that You are be the motivation in all that I do. For your glory alone!

In the beautiful Name of Jesus I ask this.

Amen and so be it!

I love y’all!
