24 Mar Breathing Room – Day 6
Psalm 145:6 (NLT)
Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue;
I will proclaim your greatness.
In a flash our lives have changed. An *invisible intruder* has waged war on us, commanding our attention; impacting our world, our lives, our conversations, our thoughts & our vocabulary. The annoying hum of headline wnews droning in our heads has become a 24-7 manic mental preoccupation. What we’re thinking about is what we’re we’re talking about. And the more we talk about it, the more we stir up the head noise. And on it goes.
We need some exercise. Not just the physical kind, but the mental and vocal kind. Any singer or actor will tell you that critical to their craft is the work of vocal exercising: vocal gymnastics that strengthen the voice to perform at its peak.
Yep- we need some exercise. And this could not be more necessary for the child of God who finds herself in the middle of “God only knows what.” We need some vocal exercise and it starts with proclaiming TRUTH.
Hold on- I’m not talking about reciting positive affirmations or clever sayings. I’m talking about rehearsing, reciting and declaring the GREATNESS of God. His Truth is the only thing that can change us at our core- deep within our heart, soul, mind & strength- which is precisely the way God commands us to love him (Matt.22:37). Why? Because he said so; and because it’s the right way, the safe way, the sane way & only way to truly live a flourishing life in the midst of anything.
God’s marvelous doings are the real healine news! So, let’s do some vocal gymnastics and DECLARE, proclaim, recount, enumerate, celebrate, speak, talk, tell (out)- the GREATNESS OF OUR GOD!
Here ya go! I’ve put a list together in the meme above, some PRACTICAL VOCAL EXERCISES to STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH! Screenshot it, save it to your homepage or print it out, and have at it, sister! You can do this!
OK, that’s that for that! Go to it, friends. Please let me know how this works for you!
And don’t forget to remember that you are greatly and dearly loved by The King!
I love y’all!
