18 Apr Flourish: A Story to Tell (Part 2)
Wow! Great night at W@W this past Tuesday. You are so brave to take this challenge to really FLOURISH in your life of faith by sharing your story of the difference Jesus has made in your life. Please check the LifeWork assignment below and don’t forget to download the handouts if you were not able to attend class.
A.B. Simpson wrote the following and I think it is especially relevant to what we’ve been discussing:
“A true and pure (authentic) Christian life attracts the world. Men and women find no inducement whatever in the lives of mediocre Christians to interest them in practical religion, but they may be won at once by a true and victorious example.”
Are we really living authentic Christianity? Are we really living as true and pure, authentic examples of a living faith in a living God?
As believers, we have been given the indwelling Holy Spirit that we may “know God better” (Eph. 1:17). That’s not just a head-knowledge of Him, but an experience with Him. I’m saying that for this reason: Followers of many other religions may defend their “faith” by saying, “We believe… such and such.” But sister, as follower of Christ not only do we “believe” but we know that God is who He says He is. It is our divine privilege… it is our divine birthright to enter into a living, personal relationship with Jesus through the ups and downs of life on this planet…that we may KNOW HIM and make Him known. We can know Him through His Word and we can know Him through personal experience with Him. The difference is then, that what others may merely feel or believe in regard to their religion, we can know personally… and for certain.
What do you know for certain about Jesus both by what He tells you in His Word and from your own personal experience. Because the question that searching people are really asking is, “What difference does Jesus really make in a real life… and how can I know for sure?”
…you are greatly and dearly loved by the King!
