For The Joy Set Before Him

I hope this holy week is off to a good and reflective start for you. My mind has been racing… wondering what God must have been thinking and feeling as he watched his Son step closer to the Cross on this tremendous week over 2,000 years ago. It’s unimaginable, actually. Knowing that God would soon have to turn his head away and forsake his One and Only… so that you and I would never have to experience the emptiness of being God-forsaken. Let that one rest heavily on you. Don’t allow busy commercialism to eclipse the enormity and significance of this week for you. Nor the implications of it. This is it, sister! This was for us! God so loving us that he GAVE… and he gave, and he gave, and he gave… through Christ Jesus. The Cross was for us, but Jesus, our Savior, took the hit… for you and for me… “for the joy set before Him”- all because God so loved. God so loved because that’s who God is. And here we are- Easter people of light living in a Good Friday world of darkness; a world of “whosoevers” who don’t realize that God so loves them.

Your life is not about you, sister, but about King Jesus and making His name famous and shining light in this dark world so that people can see “God so loved” in action, in the flesh. Do you know that? Are you living like that? Fix your eyes, sister! Not on yourself, but, “Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross…” (Hebrews 12:1-3).

For the joy set before Him… did God so love! Let’s rejoice in the life-giving, soul-reviving resurrection power of Jesus Christ… Lord, Savior, King, Healer, Redeemer and Friend… who IS ALIVE FOREVER. Amen!

You, my sister, are greatly and dearly loved by The King!
