Love vs Work Relationships

If you’ve made the decision to receive Christ, you’re always going to be in Christ. You can’t lose that, but you can leave it and drift away.

That’s what I’m talking about in Episode 71 of the Life on Life podcast. Much like a man or a woman who neglects and eventually walks away from their marriage, we can easily become distracted. Distracted with good things and infatuated with other things… our attention shifts, our priorities get shuffled around our work, our ministry, and our life.

These distractions captivate us and before we know it, the Main Thing is no longer the main thing, but just one of many things. And so the fire dies down, the light dims, and the intimacy grows cold.

This doesn’t happen because we’re engaged in wrong things. Rather, it often happens when we’re engaged in the good things in the wrong way. That’s when we shift from being in a love relationship with Jesus, to a work relationship with Jesus.

Remember, you can’t lose your salvation. You can’t lose the love Jesus has for you, but you can leave it. In Revelation 2:4, John reminds the church that this is what they did– they got preoccupied with other things and left their first love.

If we’ve left something, we can return to it, right? Our love can be rekindled. We can return to our first love and rekindle the fire! The light and the love that was once there can be re-lit and revived. Amen!

So, how do we do that? I give a few practical, Biblical steps in the latest podcast episode! Join me, won’t you?

Read: “But I have this against you: you have abandoned the passionate love you had for me at the beginning. Think about how far you have fallen! Repent and do the works of love you did at first. I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from its place of influence if you do not repent.” (Revelation 2:4-5, TPT)

I love y’all!
