October Recap: Disagreeable

Hey there, friends!

It’s the end of October… and the final days before the election.

How are you feeling? If you’re like anything I’ve seen on social media lately, you might be feeling a little… um… scratchy.

Are you angry? Anxious? Over it already?

I don’t often post anything political on social media because I choose to use social media for things I deem more important and encouraging. That said, I also don’t keep my political views a secret and I have said as much here and there. I have a right to my views and my vote just as do you yours… hopefully, without an online hostile debate.

Publicizing one’s political views on social media does not make one brave or warrant a Purple Heart of courage. Politics are not a danger or a threat to me, nor should they be to you. I’ve stared danger and death in the face and the Lord graciously gave me his courage to do so. I’m grateful for that. Politics? It’s small potatoes comparatively speaking.

I have many friends with whom I disagree, and that’s ok. Imagine how boring life would be if all we had in our circle of friends were people who looked, talked, acted, thought, believed and voted exactly like we do. Jesus hung out with people who were nothing like him– and people who were not like him, liked him! His is a great example to follow.

I even have differences with some in my own church family. But here’s the deal– we may disagree, but we are not disagreeable with one another.

Keep in mind over these next few weeks – no matter the turnout on November 3rd that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). That’s a strong truth for these uncertain times we live in. Jesus Christ is still the same Savior of our world. He’s eternal. Almighty. Righteous. Just. Immortal. Invincible. Victorious. Unshakeable. Unchanging. He’s never been elected or will be re-elected. He’s our Soverign God. Lord of all. And His Kingdom will reign forever!

I sure hope this Truth gives you serious peace of mind today… and every day. And if you’re not already spending 100 Days with Jesus in my reading plan, click here to get all the details. It’s never too late to join in!

I love y’all dearly, and don’t you forget that you are greatly and dearly loved by The King!
