Speak Easy

Did you know that the greatest and most powerful instrument for positive & effective influence sits right between your nose and your chin? That’s right- your mouth, or more specifically, your tongue. The power of speech is a most powerful gift and God has given each of us the instrument of speech to use to change lives, to change the world, for His glory. But, as we learned this past Tuesday night, first we’ve got to let Him clean up…sanctify, our mouths. That includes, but is not limited to, more than just coarse and crude language but from gossip, slander, hateful, hurtful, harsh and idle words of no value as well. As wise King Solomon tell us, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit- you choose” (Prov. 18:21 MSG).

Here’s the final word from Tuesday night’s lesson:

Pray blessing over one another… while it is TODAY.
Teach the Word of God and admonish one another with all wisdom… while it is TODAY.
Sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God… while it is TODAY. (Colossians 3:16)
Encourage one another in our spiritual gifting and calling… while it is TODAY.
Exhort one another to persevere in the Lord… while it is TODAY.
Speak words of life over one another… while it is TODAY.

Sweet Sister, I want to be used by God to the fullest extent of what He has for me and I know that you do to. So let’s give God our mouth… our tongue. Because when He has the tongue, He has the whole woman and can use her to His utmost!

Then will I purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD and serve Him shoulder to shoulder.” (Zephaniah 3:9)

…you are greatly and dearly loved by the King!
