29 Jun Surgery Scheduled

Hi Friends,

Y’all are so very dear and I love you so much.  I just wanted to let you know that I will have surgery on Tuesday, July 14th – a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction.  I’ve already spoken to some of you, but wanted to give you all this update since I just learned this morning of the date.  Not an easy decision, but John and I have a tremendous peace about it.  The Lord has been so sweet… so good to hold our hands and tell us He loves us throughout this journey; yes, He has helped us thus far! (I Sam. 7:12) I can honestly tell you that I have the most incredible peace; I am not scared or anxious or mad at God or anything; just a bit… sad.  You know?  Thank you for understanding my tears and for crying with me.  You all are the bestest friends. I love you.

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.
